Dungeons & Drogans: Session XXVIII
Session XXVIII Summary
The battle between the Drogans and the hobgoblins begins. Zook is separated from his companions, forced to fight off several hobgoblins singlehandedly.
By Round 8, only the Warchief and one of his soldiers remain. Grievously wounded, the Warchief drops to his knees and says, "You've defeated all of my minions... You're the ones that killed all the defenders of this keep... It'll be an honor to die at your hands. Grant me a warrior's death."
Zook bites the Warchief's face off.
"Noooo!" shouts Win'tyr. "He could have told us about my cousin!" The elf urged his companions to spare the remaining hobgoblin, desperate to find out about Ninaran.
The Drogans pounce on the hobgoblin, with Rekoj leaving him on the brink of collapse.
The hobgoblin draws a dagger and slashes open his own abdomen. Even as he is committing ritual suicide, Rekoj chops off the hobgoblin's head, and Autumn pins the head to the wall with her katar.
"Why?!" shouts Win'tyr, "WHYYYYY?!"
Session XXVIII - Part 1 Summary
The battle commences. A flail-wielding hobgoblin bashes Zook for 9 damage. The gnome then Fades Away, becoming invisible.
A hobgoblin charges Autumn for 10 damage.
The hobgoblins file into the rooms in which the Drogans are cornered.
Coltaine calls upon his Bastion of Defense and smashes into the Warchief, bolstering his allies' defenses.
Session XXVIII - Part 2 Summary
Hobgoblins flank Zook and slash him down to 21/35 HP as he rematerializes.
Round 1 ends. There are a total of 8 hobgoblins, including warchief.
Rekoj transforms into his Form of Winter's Herald.
Win'tyr pegs a hobgoblin with two arrows for a combined 20 damage.
The Warchief lets out a battle cry and orders his minions to surround Coltaine, then stabs the warlord down to 25/35 HP.
Zook transforms into lynx form and fumbles, biting into the hobgoblin's longsword. He is then slashed down to 11/35 HP, with three hobs surrounding him.
Round 2 ends.
Session XXVIII - Part 3 Summary
Zook is slashed down to 6/35 HP.
Win'tyr nails the hobgoblin with another 2 arrows for 18 damage, bloodying it.
The Warchief stabs Coltaine down to 15/35 HP.
Another hobgoblin slashes the human down to 8/35 HP.
Zook leaps up and tears out a hobgoblin's throat. He then spends and action point, coltaine healing him to 11/35, but fumbles on the attack.
Coltaine inspires Autumn to heal up to maximum hit points, uses his magic dwarven chainmail to heal himself, then calls upon his second wind to return him to 24/35 HP.
Zook is slashed down to 1 HP.
Win'tyr is bashed, losing most of his temporary HP.
Round 3 ends.
Autumn scores a critical hit, killing a hobgoblin.
Rekoj calls upon Nature's Abundance, and roots burst from the ceiling and floor to provide cover for the Drogans.
Session XXVIII - Part 4 Summary
Win'tyr strikes a hobgoblin, who in return the bashes the elf down to 21/30 HP.
A hobgoblin bashes Rekoj down to 47/52 HP.
The Warchief stabs Coltaine down to 13/35 HP.
Zook calls upon his second wind to heal up to 9 HP.
Coltaine inspires Zook to heal up to 22/35 HP.
Zook is slashed down to 17/35 HP.
Win'tyr is bashed down to 14/30 HP.
Round 4 ends.
Autumn fumbles.
Rekoj slashed down to 42 HP.
Zook tears out a hobgoblin's throat.
A hobgoblin bashes Autumn down to 26/29 HP.
Round 6 begins.
Autumn stabs a hobgoblin.
Win'tyr bloodies a hobgoblin.
The Warchief stabs Coltaine down to 2 HP.
Session XXVIII - Part 5 Summary
Rekoj is slashed down to 37 HP.
Zook tears out a third throat.
Coltaine finally kills a hobgoblin.
Round 6 ends.
Autumn fumbles.
Rekoj swings his blade in a vicious arc that chops into the Warchief and one of his soldiers.
Win'tyr nails a hobgoblin in the neck with an arrow, leaving the humanoid hemorrhaging.
Coltaine scores a critical hit on the Warchief with his Guarding Attack, dealing a devastating wound.
Round 8 begins.
Autumn scores a critical hit and kills a hobgoblin. She spends an action point to teleport next to the Warchief, healing to max HP, and stabs him, leaving him reeling.
Rekoj wounds a hobgoblin. Only 2 remain: the Warchief and a soldier.
Win'tyr bloodies the soldier with an arrow.
Session XXVIII - Part 6 Summary
The Warchief drops to his knees, lowers his shield, and says, "You've defeated all of my minions... You're the ones that killed all the defenders of this keep... It'll be an honor to die at your hands. Grant me a warrior's death," then leaves himself open to attack.
Zook bites the Warchief's face off; he collapses in a bloody mess.
"Noooo!" shouts Win'tyr. "He could have told us about my cousin!"
Coltaine fumbles.
Round 9 begins.
"Don't kill him yet!" shouts Win'tyr, desperate to find out about his cousin from the only remaining hobgoblin.
The Drogans pounce on the hobgoblin, with Rekoj leaving him on the brink of collapse.
Win'tyr rushes up to the hobgoblin and demands, "Where's my cousin?"
