Dungeons & Drogans: Session XVII
Session XVII Summary
The Drogans return to Shadowfell Keep where they viciously slaughter three goblins and a drake. Balgron the Fat is the only survivor of the Drogan Shadowfell Massacre, thanks to his awesome powers of cowardice that allowed him to scurry away with his tail between his legs before the party could paint the walls with his brain meat. The Drogans scour the area for the pudgy little goblin, but he is nowhere to be found.
Session XVII - Part 1 Summary
With Stephen absent, and no one wishing to risk killing Autumn again, the players let the dice decide who is the unlucky player to control the rogue--and it's Nick.
The players establish their character's marching order.
Session XVII - Part 2 Summary
The Drogans return to Shadowfell Keep, descend the steps, and encounter a goblin and a drake within the main room.
Rekoj takes cover behind a pillar before smashing his battleaxe through the goblin's skull.
In a move very uncharacteristic of John's previous characters, Zook does not charge into battle, but instead wisely stays behind and casts a fiery spell that chars the drake.
Session XVII - Part 3 Summary
The drake bites into Coltaine's thigh, tearing him down to 22/30 HP.
Round 2 starts.
Rekoj flanks the drake and chops his battleaxe into its ribs.
Autumn attacks the drake, but fumbles.
The ringing of a bell is heard echoing off the walls of the keep, and a javelin flies out of the darkness to the south and impales Rekoj down to 44/45 HP.
Coltaine delivers a mighty chop to the drake, bloodying it.
Round 3 begins.
Autumn scores a critical hit on the drake, stabbing the creature through the head with one katar, and decapitating it with the other.
Session XVII - Part 4 Summary
A goblin charges in from the southern corridor, wielding a war pick.
Zook shifts into his lynx wild shape and charges the goblin, but fumbles.
Footsteps are heard rushing forward from the west.
Round 4 starts.
Rekoj chops into the goblin with his battleaxe.
Autumn scores a second critical in a row, piercing the goblin in the clavicle and bloodying him.
Session XVII - Part 5 Summary
The goblin bashes Rekoj with his war pick, picking off a couple temporary HP.
Zook rends and tears at the goblin with his feline claws, leaving the goblin reeling.
Coltaine, still on his killing spree, decapitates the goblin, then heads towards the western corridor just as another goblin comes into view and hurls a javelin at the warlord.
Round 5 begins.
A second goblin rushes into view from the west.
Zook shifts back into gnome form, then conjures up some obscuring mist to grant the party concealment.
Session XVII - Part 6 Summary
Round 6 starts.
A goblin nails Rekoj in the thigh with a javelin, dropping him to 41/45 HP.
Rekoj delivers a mighty chop to the goblin.
The pudgy little form of Balgron the Fat comes into view from the western corridor.
Zook morphs back into his lynx form.
Coltaine strikes between Rekoj's legs and nearly takes down a goblin.
The heavily wounded goblin retreats.
Round 7 begins.
The non-wounded goblin bashes Autumn in the knee with his pick, taking her down to 21/29 HP.
Autumn stabs into the goblin.
Balgron's eyes grow wide and he runs headlong back the way he came.
Session XVII - Part 7 Summary
Zook pounces on the remaining goblin and rends it with his claws.
Coltaine slashes into the goblin and bloodies it.
Round 8 starts.
The goblin backs himself against a wall and holds up his war pick defensively. His weapon quavers.
Rekoj offers no mercy and slays the goblin.
Zook rounds the bend in the corridor and finds the retreating goblin. He charges and tears out the goblin's throat, killing it.
Round 9 begins.
Session XVII - Part 8 Summary
The Drogans
rush through an open pair of double doors in search of Balgron and scour the
area for him until they come to his locked bedchamber.
Session XVII - Part 9 Summary
Autumn picks the lock to Balgron's bedchamber, then swings the doors open. The goblin is nowhere to be found.
Having established that Balgron has disappeared, the session ends.
