Dungeons & Drogans: Session II

Session II Summary

Having just fought off an ambush, the Order of the Drogans interrogates its two reptilian prisoners. It learns that the ambushers are led by an individual named "Irontooth," but little else.

The Drogans finally arrive in Winterhaven, where, after some shenanigans, they visit Wrafton's Inn and recruit a new member, Zacsarrd -- a scythe-wielding dragonborn with a job for them.

Session II - Part 1 Summary

We start with a recap of our first session and our introduced to our new player -- but not his character. Not quite yet. After another discussion about eating Jacques' horse, Rekoj searches the bodies of their ambushers.

Session II - Part 2 Summary

The Drogans tie up one of the two creatures they had incapacitated instead of disemboweled, and slap it awake. Coltaine single-handedly uses the good cop/bad cop routine, with no success: the creature is too terrified to respond. The other creature is then interrogated, with Rekoj threatening to break its legs. The creature spits, "Irontooth," but nothing else.

Session II - Part 3 Summary

In spite of Rekoj's torture, the creature reveals nothing more -- and is promptly executed. The remaining creature breaks down, thinking he, too, is moments away from death. The Drogans find out that Irontooth is his leader and he was just following his orders.

Session II - Part 4 Summary

The Drogans distribute the spoils of their conquest, then have a brief discussion about equipping the horse with javelins. Deciding they don't want to leave the corpses on the road, they hide them off to the side. The road is still drowned in blood, and, of course, the creature that Rekoj mashed into a paste is still there, but it's still a step towards being environmentally friendly. After traveling further down King's Road, they spot Winter Haven at last.

Session II - Part 5 Summary

After some unfounded trepidation on the part of Jacques about walking into Winterhaven, the Drogans enter the town and are directed to Wrafton's Inn. The townsfolk believe Rekoj has the plague, as they have never seen a goliath before.

Session II - Part 6 Summary

The party finally enters the inn and meets Zacsarrd, displaying his magical prowess. Rekoj orders a pitcher of ale to drink to himself as townspeople whisper about him.

Session II - Part 7 Summary

Coltaine gets to know Zacsarrd, who is also an adventurer. The dragonborn already has a job to share with the party: Padraig, Lord of Winterhaven, wishes for someone to investigate the kobold ambushes. The party agrees to undertake the quest, but an elven huntress scoffs as she overhears. Zacsaard tries to enlist her help, but she wants nothing to do with them. Unabated, the Drogans celebrate the addition of  their new member with a pitcher of ale.

Session II - Part 8 Summary

Jacques uses his magical abilities to warm up the beer, rendering it undrinkable, and the confused barkeep serves them a new pitcher. The party asks the barkeep about the elf huntress, Ninaran.

Session II - Part 9 Summary

Through conversations with the barkeep and with a local farmer, Elian the Old, Coltaine learns about his Master, Douven Stall. Elian tells Coltaine that he directed Douven to an old dragon burial site, and draws the warlord a map.

Session II - Part 10 Summary

Zacsarrd keeps an eye on Ninaran, who was eavesdropping on the Drogans' conversations, and the day whittles away until the party decides to get a good night's rest before setting off on their quest.
